Caroline & Walker’s Colorful Garden Wedding

A historic columned estate, an ivy-draped garden ceremony and a reception beneath a draped white tent gave this Louisville wedding a joyful, one-of-a-kind feel. Poppies, dahlias, ranunculus and creamy anthurium added bursts of coral, hot pink and sunny yellow to the grounds, while olive green accents tied the day together.

The celebration moved from a rehearsal dinner at a Louisville distillery to a getting-ready suite with a canopied bed, a rainbow-ribbon ceremony entrance and a tented dinner with long tables and candlelight. Playful stationery, a bourbon tasting and woven rattan details made every part of the weekend feel personal, colorful and full of character.

Stationery with Personality

The couple’s invitation suite was anything but traditional. A bold red rehearsal dinner card invited guests to Copper & Kings Distillery on Friday, August 7, hosted by Walker’s parents. The main invitation was printed in pink on cream, with thin colored threads of yellow, blue and red running down the side, and a cream program carried the couple’s “CW” monogram in soft yellow. A pink RSVP card with a QR code to the couple’s website completed the set.

The flat lay was full of playful details: an illustrated orange old fashioned cut-out, olive green matchbooks stamped with the monogram, a velvet ring box, satin pointed-toe heels, a perfume bottle and a blue velvet box of drop earrings. A wicker basket tied with yellow, pink and ivory ribbons added a handmade touch.

Getting Ready in a Historic Suite

Caroline prepared in a room with green star-and-diamond wallpaper, a velvet canopy trimmed in tassels and a gilded chandelier. In a black-and-white image, she laughed as two women, one in a beaded floral gown and the other in a tulip-print dress, helped her with her gown.

Her dress had a scooped neckline, thin straps and a full skirt of textured floral jacquard with a long train. In a moody, window-lit portrait, she sat in the soft light with a bouquet in her lap while Walker stood behind her in a black tuxedo with a bow tie and white boutonniere.

A Bouquet in Full Bloom

Caroline’s bouquet was a loose, cheerful mix of coral Icelandic poppies, peach ranunculus, magenta dahlias, pink sweet peas and creamy anthurium, with trailing green amaranth. A rosary wrapped around the stems added a meaningful touch, and her red manicure echoed the poppies.

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen in Their Own Style

The bridesmaids on the front steps of the columned home each wore a different gown, including hot pink with 3D flowers, sage green with sequins, sky blue with beaded floral embroidery, raspberry and lavender jacquard. Each carried a small, bright bouquet in the same colors as Caroline’s. The group laughed together with the bride in the center.

Walker’s groomsmen gathered in a blue damask drawing room with a gilded chandelier and a deep blue rug. They wore classic black tuxedos with bow ties and small boutonnieres, and three of them sat in the center in red upholstered chairs.

A Ribbon-Draped Garden Ceremony

Guests entered through an ivy-covered iron gate, where a garland of rainbow ribbons in red, orange, yellow, pink and turquoise hung across the entrance. Beyond it, a stone aisle led between rows of wooden cross-back chairs to the ceremony space.

Woven rattan urns on white pedestals held tall arrangements of pink hydrangea, orange zinnias, poppies, white anthurium and trailing amaranth. Each chair held a cream paper fan on a gray cushion, a practical and pretty detail for a summer ceremony.

Welcome Details and a Bourbon Tasting

A pale green welcome party sign, hand-drawn in dark green with tulips and daisies, greeted guests on an easel with the couple’s names and the date, August 7, 2026. The seating chart was displayed on a rattan folding screen, with olive-framed cards and small bud vases of poppies and ranunculus.

The Kentucky touches were hard to miss. A “Bourbon Tasting” runner with ruffled edges, listing Potter Jane and Willett Family Estate selections, sat beneath a rattan urn of hydrangea, dahlias, ranunculus and anthurium. A lounge area on the lawn had fringed umbrellas, rattan chairs and a daybed around a gold coffee table.

A Tented Reception in Full Color

Under a tent draped in white fabric and strung with café lights, a hanging wreath of greenery, hydrangea and red poppies floated above the dance floor, which was checkered in wood and white. Long tables with ivory linens, cross-back chairs and flickering candles stretched across the space.

The table settings were full of color. Lavender plates with burgundy scalloped edges were topped with olive green menu cards and a hand-cut yellow flower place card. Bud vases held coral ranunculus, pink snapdragons and yellow poppies. Olive green scalloped napkins stamped with the “CW” monogram added a final touch. Large rattan baskets overflowing with blooms lined the head table.

A Happy Couple, Day and Night

Caroline and Walker danced on a white-trimmed balcony with wrought iron details, Caroline smiling toward the camera as Walker twirled her hand. Later in the evening, she changed into a short white dress with a large flower at the waist, paired with purple satin heels and a green velvet clutch, holding a silver goblet and a pink rose.

From the colorful stationery and ribbon-draped entrance to the tented dinner and late-night celebration, Caroline and Walker’s Whitehall wedding was cheerful, personal and full of Kentucky charm.
