Jen & Zach’s Willow-Shaded Courtyard Wedding
A brick courtyard framed by a weeping willow and a reception inside an airy industrial hall gave this Germantown Gables wedding a relaxed, modern feel. Wild, garden-style florals, warm rust accents and an earthy mix of olive, mocha and sage set the mood for the day.
The celebration moved from a quiet first look beneath the willow to an intimate ceremony under café lights and a candlelit dinner against a living wall of greenery. Playful moments with the groomsmen, a joyful bridesmaid lineup and a lively dance floor kept the day personal and full of laughter.

Quiet Details Before the Ceremony
Jen’s gown hung from the branches of a leafy shrub in the courtyard, its satin skirt and crisscross straps catching the sunlight. Her pointed ivory heels waited on the patterned stone below, a simple, editorial start to the day.
Flat-lay details showed off the loose, wild character of the florals. Her bouquet of sweet peas, green amaranth, orange poppies and ivory blooms lay across black-and-white marble tile, wrapped with a white ribbon and dangling gold earrings. Gold rings, a ribbed lipstick, a cuff bracelet and strappy ivory heels were arranged among scattered petals.
A First Look Under the Willow
Jen and Zach’s first look took place in the courtyard, with its corrugated metal fencing, wooden planters and brick windows behind them. Her bias-cut satin gown had an open back and halter straps, and she stretched her arms out toward Zach as he turned and broke into a grin.
Zach wore a chocolate brown suit with a patterned tie and a boutonniere of thistle and golden-yellow blooms. A tender portrait followed, with Jen cradling his face as he looked up at her from a wooden chair, framed by the hanging branches of the willow.
Groomsmen in Good Spirits
The groomsmen wore warm tan suits with dark ties and brown leather shoes, which looked good beside Zach’s darker brown suit. The group portraits quickly turned playful, with the groomsmen reaching in, laughing and nudging Zach while he looked down with a shy smile. The photos show the friendship and humor in the group.
A Bridesmaid Lineup in Autumn Shades
Jen’s bridesmaids wore a mix of satin and floral gowns in olive, sage, chocolate, rust, forest green and mocha. No two dresses were identical, but the shared earthy palette made the group look cohesive. Each carried a small hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies, Queen Anne’s lace and greenery.
Jen stood in the center of the group in her white halter gown, exchanging smiles with the women on either side. A candid recessional shot shows the couple walking hand in hand across the courtyard, Jen beaming and the wedding party trailing behind them.
A Courtyard Ceremony Beneath the Willow
The ceremony space made use of the courtyard’s natural beauty. Natural wood folding chairs lined a stone-paved aisle, and a giant weeping willow served as the backdrop. Strands of bulb lights crisscrossed overhead, and the red brick building with its tall arched windows and smokestack stood in the distance.
Low, loose arrangements of wildflowers and dried blooms in muted yellows, creams and soft pinks sat at the foot of the willow, adding color without competing with the setting.
A Reception in an Industrial Hall
Indoors, the reception hall had green steel beams, tall windows and white draped curtains. Round tables had ivory linens, rust napkins, gold flatware and natural wood folding chairs, which added warmth to the space.
Centerpieces mixed formal and wild styles. Some tables had low arrangements of cream roses, green hydrangea and trailing wildflowers in stone-style vessels. Others had glass hurricane cylinders with tall taper candles, plus small bud vases of spray roses, thistle and Queen Anne’s lace. A rust-colored wooden numeral marked each table, and a wire bowl and a marble-based vase added modern touches.
A Sweetheart Table and a Dance Floor Finale
Jen and Zach’s sweetheart table was the highlight of the evening. A rust-colored cloth covered the table, which stood in front of a carved antique wooden door and a living wall of moss, succulents and trailing greenery. Candles in glass cylinders glowed around a bouquet of white flowers and amaranth, while a wild floor arrangement of grasses, hydrangea and yellow blooms spilled across the concrete floor in front of them.
Later, the mood shifted to energy and fun. In a flash-lit candid, Zach reached out to pull Jen onto the dance floor as guests laughed and cheered behind them.
From the quiet willow courtyard to the candlelit sweetheart table and the dancing that followed, Jen and Zach’s Germantown Gables wedding was relaxed, personal and full of natural beauty.
