A Garden-Inspired Wedding Design
The wedding aesthetic embraced an elevated English garden feel with a distinctly Kentucky twist. Powder blue linens, buttery yellow blooms, blush roses, lavender delphiniums, and lush greenery transformed the outdoor venue into a scene straight from a storybook.
The stationery suite immediately set the tone, featuring delicate watercolor florals, charming illustrations, and personalized artwork that hinted at the botanical beauty guests would soon experience. Every paper detail felt soft, whimsical, and intentionally handcrafted.
One of the most memorable bridal details was Laney’s gown. While timeless in silhouette, the dress featured beautifully embroidered pastel flowers cascading along the train and veil, creating a subtle nod to the gardens surrounding the ceremony.
Saying “I Do” Surrounded by Blooms
The ceremony space embraced the natural landscape rather than competing with it. Organic floral installations framed the altar with towering delphinium, garden roses, hydrangea, and seasonal blooms in shades of powder blue, blush, cream, and soft peach.
Just before the ceremony, Mother Nature added an unexpected touch. Guests opened clear umbrellas as a gentle rain passed through the gardens, creating a romantic atmosphere that somehow made the ceremony feel even more intimate. Instead of dampening the celebration, the rain became one of the day’s sweetest memories and made for incredibly beautiful photographs.
Personalized Details with Kentucky Heart
Throughout the reception, guests discovered thoughtful touches that celebrated both the couple and the Bluegrass State.
Custom “Kentucky Bride” and “Kentucky Groom” mugs welcomed the newlyweds at their sweetheart table, while a personalized bar featured a linen embroidered with “Cheers to The Tobins.”
Instead of traditional escort cards, guests found their tables through beautiful ceramic pitchers overflowing with cheerful spring flowers, allowing the seating display to double as décor. Soft blue scalloped table cards perfectly complemented the reception palette.
Guests also enjoyed several interactive experiences, including:
- An audio guestbook where loved ones could record heartfelt messages.
- Wildflower seed packet favors encouraging guests to “help our love bloom.”
- A dessert display featuring cookies, brownies, and colorful macarons.
- Vintage-inspired details like rattan accents, brass décor, and heirloom china.
An Elegant Reception Under the Pavilion
Inside the open-air pavilion, the reception felt effortlessly refined.
Powder blue linens created a fresh foundation for the tablescape, while white dinnerware, gold flatware, vintage green glassware, and delicate bud vases filled with single blooms kept the design feeling light and airy.
As evening settled in, glowing candlelight transformed the reception into an intimate garden dinner party. Tall taper candles mixed with ribbed glass hurricanes added warmth while allowing the colorful florals to remain the focal point.
The classic three-tier white wedding cake echoed the timeless aesthetic, featuring delicate piped swags that felt both vintage and modern.
Ending the Night in Style
As the celebration came to a close, Laney and Ben slipped away in a stunning vintage Rolls-Royce. The classic getaway car made for unforgettable black-and-white portraits before the couple toasted to their new beginning with champagne inside the beautifully restored vehicle.
It was the perfect ending to a wedding that effortlessly blended romance, thoughtful design, and personal touches from beginning to end.
